COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAMS- Dr. Dory performs comprehensive eye exams during which she checks to see if you need glasses, checks to see if you have cataracts or glaucoma, and checks the cornea for dryness or any abnormality. In addition, she dilates your eyes and closely examines the optic nerves and retina, checking for macular degeneration. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Dory treats most eye diseases, but for more advanced problems she refers to sub-specialists as needed. After working in Fort Worth for 21 years she has developed a close relationship with the best ophthalmology sub-specialists in the Metroplex.
CATARACT EVALUATION AND SURGERY- Cataracts can significantly affect your ability to read and drive, especially at night, and can cause glare problems. Dr. Dory will help you determine when it is time to remove the cataracts, and her well-trained staff in the office and at Plaza Day surgery will prepare you for the surgery and make the process as smooth as possible. Patients are pleased with the excellent care they receive at the surgery center and Dr. Dory does all of her patient’s post-op care. Restoring sight to her patients through cataract surgery is one of the most rewarding aspects of her practice. Patients often comment, “I have never seen this well before”. Dr. Dory does a small incision, no-stitch phacoemulsification procedure to remove the cataract. In addition, she does offer the advanced multifocal Restor lens that allows patients to see both at distance and near without glasses.
